My friend, Sarah, moved up north last year. Her daughter, Shelby, was born the same day as Tyler. She has been such a great "mommy" friend. We have had so many playdates over the past 4 years. They came down 4 days before we had Tinley. She took some really great pics of my prego belly and we had a great time swimming. Of course the kids ended up streaking across the pool deck (I didn't include those pics ... So funny!) Sarah and her new hubby, Kyle, with their Big Ol' Truck! Miss em so much; Love you tons!!!

Infant Swim Resource

I was introduced to Infant Swim Resource by one of my friend, Heather, an ER doctor. It is the most amazing program in teaching children survival swimming to avoid drowning. Since I didn't grow up with a pool in my back yard much less swim in anything deeper than a "WalMart special plastic pool" for a very long time, this was a new world to me. When Mike and I decided to build a pool in our backyard since Arizona is hotter than the Devil's backyard, I felt it was time to teach the kids. Jenna started when she was 10 months and Tyler at 2. This year was their re-certifcation. I am so proud as a parent that these two are now fishes in the pool and swim better than I ever have! 3-4 Chicago Bears

Ahhhh ... more football pics. So this season Tyler played for the Bears (finally!). Mike did a great job coaching and we made some great friends on the team. After 2 seasons, Tyler finally got the hang of it and was so excited to play and run the ball. The first game he got mad at Mike for taking him out and threw a fit on the sidelines. So funny! It was a little chilly in the mornings so he wore long sleeves. There is a great video of Tyler fumbling because of the "wardrobe malfunction!"

Tyler's 4th Bday

Tyler turned 4 on April 18. I can't believe how big he is getting. He is such a little boy! He got a few remote control toys and has had a great time running them all over the house. We had a party with his friends and even played some "Old School" party games that my mom used to do. We also took cupcakes to daycare for a little party ... Tyler and Jenna had a great time making the cupcakes. Grandma Al and Grandma Helen were in town just before his bday so we had a mini celebration with them too. What a deal ... 3 bday parties ... why not have a week long celebration!

Big Al and Helen came to visit in April for the NASCAR race and to visit the kids. They were here just before Tyler's birthday. We had a great visit and as you can see they had a great time at NASCAR!!

Easter 2010

We had a nice Easter this year. I had to work but we did an Easter Egg hunt over the weekend. The kids had a great time. We had Dylan Mashlan over again. The kids found all the eggs and had a great time chowing the candy. Tyler loved getting money in the eggs so when he would open one with candy he would complain, "Where's the money?!" Hilarious! We also made a load of cupcakes - Easter basket style this year. The kids also got Zhu Zhu pets from Grandpa Art and Grandma Karen. If you don't know what these are - they are motorized hamsters that make sounds and roam all over the floor. Pretty entertaining watching the kids chase them.

March was a pretty laid back month. We bought my 2007 Tahoe. Love that truck ... best mama wagon I have ever owned! The kids planted our first tree with Mike one night. Unfortunately with a ton of TLC the darn tree didn't make it so now we have a fire hazard in the front yard. It was my 34th bday (second bday prego ... haha). Tyler for some reason remembers random things and likes to remind me that I am 34 and daddy is younger than me! Wonder who taught him that ... hmmmm. The kids love to play in the back yard and we had a lot of great weather for it!

Sea World San Diego Feb 2010

In February we went to San Diego for a long weekend. We went to the San Diego dog show to meet Cajun's new owner - Hiroki. Cajun is a puppy from our last litter that we sold to a man in Japan through a friend of ours. We had to keep him for 1 year until everything cleared to send him to the foreign country. It was a crazy process and ended up being really hard on me becauase I got too attached to him (guess my prego hormones were kicking in!). We also went to San Diego for the day since this was our vacation for the year. It ended up being cold and rainy at times. We got to the Shamu show and no sooner found a seat it started pouring. We paid an arm and leg for a few Shamu ponchos and watched the show. The kids absolutely loved it! This was right after the whale trainer was killed in Florida so none of the trainers got in the water with the whales, but it was still amazing to see those creatures up close. It did stop raining long enough for us to trek across the entire park. I was 5 months prego and ended up carrying Jenna all day long - minus the pic of Mike holding her on his shoulders ;) It was such a great day for the family. Just as we were leaving the park it started pouring!! Even though we spent most of the day soaking wet, it was so much fun and the kids loved it. They keep asking when we are going back to the shamu show.

This season Tyler played for the NY Jets. He improved a little from his first season - so much more excited for football, wanted to play and even ran the ball a little. Mike did a great job coaching and we had so much fun!

I try to get the kids pics done for their birthdays, but Tyler's was so late this time. The kids were pretty funny for the session. Jenna initially threw a fit including pulling her hair bow out and full on temper tantrum. Once we got her settled down the only saving grace were the stuffed animals! Can't believe how much they have changed in a short period of time.

Boys night to the Monster Truck Ralley. Mike Tyler, Uncle Jay and about 8 other dad's/sons went to the ralley. Tyler loved it according to Mike. He was on the edge of his seat the entire show. When Mike took him to the bathroom, Tyler said, "Hurry dad we have to get back out there!!!"

My mom came to visit in January. It is always great to have family in town. She got some great pics of the kids playing. We went to the mall and played at the kids area. Played lots of dress up and had to take turns over a Christmas toy - the pull bumble bee. Had to set an egg timer for the first few days - HILARIOUS!

This New Year's we were surpised by a visit from Robb and Britt. He won tickets to the Fiesta bowl and made a little extended trip to our house. We had a great night of fun filled Wii, great food and good friends. It was a perfect way to enjoy the holiday.

We had a fantastic Christmas last year. My dad came to visit for a quick weekend. We went to Bass Pro Shop to see Santa. The kids had a great time except that Jenna was TERRIFIED! The kids and I made about 7 dozen cookies and went to our first cookie exchange. Santa was good to us this year and the kids were so entertaining to watch. Jenna really liked to lay on her presents to open them and Tyler set a new record for fastest present opening in the Loggins' house.

My little girl is 2!!! Jenna had a great birthday. We had lasagna at the house and cake. She is growing up so fast. We also made cupcakes for daycare. Jenna has become quite the little princess, but she is not afraid to play in the dirt with Tyler while all dressed up! She keeps us busy and makes us laugh a lot.

October was full of great memories. Tyler had his first major crash in the bathtub back in Indiana the day before we left. It was enough to split his chin, but not so much that he needed stitches. The kids got Race for the Cure Capes and quickly became addicted to playing superheros. Grampa Al and Grandma Helen visited. Al kept busy doing tractor work and taking Tyler for rides in the backyard. Halloween was so fun this year. We had pizza and carved pumpkins with a few friends. Went Trunk or Treating at the elementary school by the house and even went to our first Apache Junction Halloween Party. Mike and I dressed like Trailer Trash just to fit in!

We made a trip back to Indiana for a wedding and to enjoy the beginning of fall. The kids did a pretty good job of traveling there but the airplane ride home was rough! While we were back there we got to visit a working dairy farm and go to County Line Orchard to pick apples. The kids had a great time at the petting zoo and we ate way too much food! We also got to visit with most of Mike's family and my step sister Sara. It was so much fun and we can't wait to go back!

My dad visited for a quick weekend. Jenna had her first black eye from falling and bumping her head. Tyler was in full swing of his first season of flag football. We had a great visit and the kids got to see Grandpa run the pool table on their mama!

This Oct-Nov Tyler played his first season of 3-5 year old flag football. It was absolutely entertaining. He really liked it. He went from standing perfectly still in his spot on defense to actually chasing a player. He was the youngest one on the team, so primarily played center, but he did get to run the ball a few times. I am proud to say that Tyler never ran toward his own end zone. He didn't really like running into the defense, but he figured it out at the end. We lucked out and got to have 3 grandparents in for games. My dad saw one and Al and Helen saw the others. The video barely captures how entertaining it was to watch!

We lucked out and got a great deal on a play set for the back yard. After 3-4 weeks of it sitting against the fence we finally got it put up. The kids absoultely love it. Jenna could swing all day; at least as long as someone will push her! We had some great monsoons and there is one pic of my backyard during one. Literally looked like there was a pool back there. Mike turned 33 on the 25th. We had a nice family dinner. Thank God ... I am no longer older than him! (I am 6 months older and he will never let me forget LOL) Tyler also started 3-4 flag football. He was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons. This is probably the only league where one of the littlest guys plays center. He really seems to like it and is getting better each week. He actually sleeps with his football. Jenna has been a great cheerleader and seems to entertain herself well on the sidelines. Hopefully I will get a video up soon. Enjoy the pics for now.

July was such a fun filled month. My mom came to visit in the beginning of the month. We took the kids to the Phoenix Children's Museum. It was so much fun. There is so much to do there and by the time we left the kids fell asleep in the car before I got out of the parking lot! Later in the month we took the kids to Florida to meet up with my dad, stepmom, brothers and step sisters. It was a blast. The kids loved the ocean and by the end of the week were complete beach bums! It was so nice to be around family and relax. We had so many pictures to choose from this month I was only able to narrow it down to the top 50. Yep, 50!

Where has time gone. I am so far behind in blogging, but over the next week I will try to get it caught up. I am mainly adding summer pics as I haven't added any since Tyler's birthday in April. In June, the Pride Family (Clint, Carmen, Carley and Cole) came to visit. We had a great time going swimming, to the zoo and looking for baby rhinos (long story!). Our kids are pretty close in age so makes for a great time. These are the highlights of their trip.

I absolutely cannot believe how fast time flies. Tyler is now 3. We had the best time for his birthday ... he had 2 parties and a weekend full of fun. We had a Diego party on Friday with Mexican food ... of course. He got his new bike and refused to go to bed until about one hour of riding in the garage. At least he slept in the new morning! Then on Sunday had the family birthday party when he got his Geotraks. It took his dad and uncle a while and a few beers to put the whole thing together, but now is hours of fun. We had a great visit with his Papa Al and Grandma Helen and were lucky to have them here for his birthday. Enjoy the pics. Love you all!

This Easter was so much fun. I had to work on Sunday, so we had it a day early. It was about 50 degrees, windy and raining so all activities were indoors, but the kids still had a great time. We woke up and the kids opened presents from their grandparents and the Easter bunny. In the afternoon had an egg hunt, then ate way too much food! Tyler is the master hunter, while Jenna is slow and steady. They both had a blast. Thank God for Paula who arranged the whole hunt. Dylan was more the hunt and eater, but hilarious to watch. Jenna Pigtails

So for about 1 hour Jenna let me put her hair up in pigtails. It was hilarious! She barely had enough hair and I barely had practice at "little girl hairstyling", but she was just adorable. She loves to play peak a boo in our bathroom cabinets as you may have seen in prior posts. The last couple of pics are Tyler and Jenna's favorite past-time - brushing their teeth .... I really think they just like the toothpaste, but pretty funny nontheless.

President's Weekend at the Dunes

So much has happened this month and I finally had a chance to post it today! We went to the Imperial Sand Dunes over the weekend. The kids did an amazing job traveling and loved the larger than life sandbox. It was cool during the day but thatdidn't stop the kids from diggin in the sand and riding toys around the camp - quite the entertainers! Mike and I got to go out on a few rides which was great since I can finally ride my quad again (being prego for the past 2 years has slowed down this hobby LOL!) We went with about 15 people, ate great food and had good times around the campfire. Enjoy the pics :)

Mike played in a softball tournament a few weekends ago at Big League Dreams. It is a complex in Gilbert AZ. So cool! Built like some of the big league stadiums. He played on Wrigley. There is a pic of him playing right field. Dad the St Louis Cardinals pic is for you :) There is a clubhouse with great food and batting cages that I just couldn't resist. Tyler and Jenna loved the outing.

I actually had a million pictures from this trip, so to save everyone, I just posted my favs. These are from our trip to Belleville. We went to the St. Louis Zoo with Grandma Jan and Uncle Bob. I absolutely love that zoo. Our fav exhibit was either the hippos or the penquins. The last pic is so funny to me because between the animals and carting 2 toddlers around we were seriously wore out :) We had a great time hanging out at Grandpa Art and Grandma Karen's house. Aunt Suzy and Tyler made Jenna's baptism cake - Tyler loved the icing. We went to a park the day before we left and truly enjoyed the weather and green grass. This October the Mike, me and the kids took a 2 state Midwestern tour for family vacation. We honestly couldn't have had better weather, had a fantastic time visiting family and ate way too much home cooked food! This is just the first half of the trip from when we were in northern Indiana. I have way too many pics so just posted some of my favorites. We had a great BBQ at Al and Helen Loggins. Spent a great afternoon with Doris Loggins and Aunt Mary Ann at a Railroad Diner. The rest was mainly enjoying the local park and grass since we don't have much of the green stuff here. The last picture is Tyler being a goof in the car on the way to Illinois!

The Loggins had their first annual Pizza and Pumpkin carving. This year proved to be more pumpkin carving for adults and truck pushing for kids. It was Jenna and Dylan's first time with the pumpkin guts and neither really liked it. Tyler had a blast flinging the pumpkin seeds and guts across the garage which turned into spraying the floor down just to clean up the mess! It was a great time, the kids loved it, the pumpkin seeds were tasty and we look forward to next year.

Well I have not been so great at updating my blog, but hopefully will get it caught up this week. We had a fantastic visit back to Indiana and Illinois at the begining of the month so be expecting my fav pics from the trip as well as pics from Jenna's baptism. But first I wanted to upload this weekend's pics since Halloween was so much fun! We had such a great week. We went to a pumpkin patch so Tyler and Jenna could pick out pumpkins. Unlike most fall events, it was 93 degrees that day and the three of us were sweating out butts off picking the pumpkins. I guess dressing for fall in the desert isn't the best idea :) Tyler, of course, picked the biggest one he could find. We loaded it up in a wagon and he tried to pull it around the patch, but gave up when the pumpkin and his sister outweighed him! Below are some pics. The kids were hot and ready to go by the time I got out the camera, but still cute.

Closet Fun

Tyler and Jenna love to play in her closet. While playin in there one day Tyler found the baby doll we originally bought to teach our dogs not to jump on us while we were holding it and for the dogs to get used to the idea of a little baby. Anyway, Tyler LOVES this doll. It is his "baby". As you can see he likes to hang out with her. The funniest thing is the doll is 1/2 his size so not easy to maneuver, but he can still toss it over the side of the crib for her nap. Quite funny. Jenna has really taken to pulling all of the blankets off the lowest shelf in the closet. It is her daily mission to somehow sneak in there and pull the blankets. If I am quick enough to catch her in the act, I get this devious grin (note above pic) and hysterical laughter. She is such a hoot!

Phoenix Zoo

I had a few days off this week and the zoo opened a new splash pad so we had to go check it out. The new one literally had a bus load of kids, so we hung out at the old splash pad which is still cool nonetheless. Tyler as you will see was a "madman". In fact, we succeeded at ticking off a mom because he was briefly the bully on the pad. 2 year olds! We went with our friends Liz and her 2 daughters Claire and Nora. Her girls are within months of our kids. It was a beautiful day and so much fun. Tyler really gets a kick out of saying the animal names and coming up with his version of the appropriate animal sound. Jenna pretty much hung out with Nora, snacked, sat on the splash pad to cool off, then passed out in the stroller. They were so adorable - little Thelma and Louise!

This is a video of Tyler and his truck. Thank God the truck has forward and reverse all done by the push of a button. Notice Tyler doesn't get mad when he wrecks into the tree stump or does a little burnout, but gets mad when he stops suddenly and his juice box falls over. So funny!

Labor Day Camping Trip

We had a great camping trip over labor day. It was so nice to get out of the 100 degree weather into 70 degrees and rain. Tyler and Jenna travelled great. Tyler's favorite past time was driving his truck or his quad around camp. Jenna had fun hanging out with friends in a pack and play and babbling constantly. Jenna's bath pic reminded me of one of Tyler's first camping pics - he was 8 months. I think she has him beat on the rolls!

Tyler absolutely loves his snake and recently has started watching the movie "The Jungle Book". It even makes the sound of a rattlesnake. If you ask him about snakes he says "Hissss, don't touch it!"

Mike got to go fishing in Alaska last month for 5 days. Caught a bunch of silver salmon and halibut. Got to ride a 3 seater plane and drink a lot of beer!
